BELLUM
FLUCTUATIONS
The allegory of humanity's self-destruction takes the form of the female body which, through references to ancient myths, becomes the subject of the staging of contemporary social dramas. This is presented in the form of ten polyptychs, each composed of a sequence of twelve images created in encaustic on wooden panels.
Fluctuations is a journey into the hidden mysteries within the body, in the eye of the beholder, in life and in the doubt that always runs through it. The theme is that of the present, with all our doubts in the awareness of future events in which we will be immersed.
THE LAKE
SIMO
The subject is a mysterious lake, anthropized even though people are rarely seen, usually only their traces. The works are photographs transferred onto wooden boards and then worked with encaustic using waxes and natural resins. The images are only apparently monochromatic and have an antique feel, but if looked at closely they are unmistakably contemporary.
The human body is movement, it lives in movement and with it takes on the strangest forms and unconsciously follows the paths of dreams, poetry and notes, of malaise and euphoria.
SUNNY FLOWERS
MOULDS
Sunny Flowers is the visionary tale of the encounter between the flower and the sun's rays, water, and heat, the synthesis of natural evolution and its transformations that are sublimated in photography. They are reflections on the photographic medium and its technical history. They use ultraviolet light characteristic of nineteenth-century techniques, twentieth-century film, and the use of computer technology in our current century.
Muffazioni is the result of a long reflection on time and within time through the cultivation of a breeding of industrious molds. Over the years, here come to life the Muffazioni, which I would define as a natural informal.
ARTIST'S BOOKS
The artist's books are handmade by me and Lia, they are always in numbered editions, in limited runs, and are connected to cycles of my works. Some form the Dada Series and are an operation structured on the basis of a specific set of rules.
BOX NOTES
My Box Notes are boxes that contain visual notes. They collect thoughts and memories that are important to me. Images and transparencies hanging from small steel rods, fragile and floating like thoughts and memories. And with the presence, small but important, of a lens that serves to reveal small hidden worlds, sometimes enlightening, sometimes surprising.
