After Sotheby’s and Christie’s, Phillips' evening sale set 7 records, with sell-through rates of 96% by value, 93% by lots, for a total of £25,251,900. Sigmar Polke's Negerplastik was sold for £3,047,500. The world of huge figures for art purchases does not seem to know a crisis, quite the opposite. There are, however, major problems for the art market with affordable, if not low, prices, which is still in deep crisis not only because of Covid. This is demonstrated by the severe crisis of galleries with annual turnovers below 500,000 euros. Much will have to change.
