There are eighteen images that make up the exhibition 17 Scratches. Piazza Fontana 50°, one for each of the seventeen victims plus an eighteenth photograph taken by Stefano Porfirio, creator and curator of the exhibition, and conceived to be the symbolic image of the exhibition. The exhibition will be inaugurated at the Municipal Library of Gaggiano on Friday, September 17 at 9:00 pm and will be open for visits until October 14, 2021.

The exhibition, initially promoted by the Piazza Fontana 12 December 1969 Association, has already been shown in Milan in December 2019 at the Casa della Memoria, which was also a promoter. The aim, after the forced interruption caused by the pandemic, is to keep alive the memory of the massacre that bloodied Milan on a tragic December afternoon in 1969. To do so, Stefano Porfirio asked seventeen photographers to choose one of their images created specifically for the exhibition with reference to the victim to whom it would be dedicated, and as many writers, critics, and journalists to comment on the photographs. The participating photographers were: Marina Alessi, Gianni Berengo Gardin, Silvio Canini, Francesco Cito, Antonio Grassi, Raoul Iacometti, Massimo Lagorio, Gianni Macheda, Stefania Mantelli, Graziano Perotti, Mauro Pinotti, Stefano Porfirio, Paola Rizzi, Andrea Rossato, Paolo Scarano, Angelo Raffaele Turetta, Emanuela Viaro, Adolfo Violini. The texts were written by: Rossana Bacchella, Federico Balzarini, Gianni Bombaci, Agnese Coppola, Matteo Dendena, Federica Giuliani, Sandro Iovine, Federico Klausner, Giuseppe Langella, Susan Moore, Roberto Mutti, Pier Paolo Pasolini, Erica Regalin, Silvestro Serra, Melina Scalise, Frediano Tavano, Benedetta Tobagi, Mauro Toffetti, Roberto Uggeri.

Furthermore, the exhibition includes the special project photoSHOWall The Giants curated by Roberto Mutti, created with six images from those on display by Francesco Cito, Gianni Berengo Gardin, Antonio Grassi, Graziano Perotti, Paolo Scarano and Angelo Raffaele Turetta, exhibited thanks to a non-conventional large-scale display system arranged in a circular form to evoke an ideal square.
