The Paris Commune. The Bloody Week. Saturday, May 27, 1871. This morning, forces of the 209th and 191st battalions of the National Guard are still resisting at the Faubourg du Temple. On rue Puebla, the barricade falls at 10 a.m. Around noon, on rue Haxo, the last meeting of the Commune takes place. In Belleville, there are fierce clashes. In the Père-Lachaise cemetery, fighting with cold weapons goes on all day, among the graves and in the underground passages. Here, in the end, 147 communards surrender but are nevertheless immediately shot, at the foot of a cemetery wall.
