“Les hommes” (The men) is dedicated to the men of the Paris Commune of 1871 and their commitment to the conquest of rights and dignity. This is a work signed LPA because it was made four-handed by my wife Lia and me. Reproductions of period photographs were used, which, from left to right, portray Viel, Auguste Vermorel, Leó Frankel, Louis Charles Delescluze, Albert Theisz, Jules Valles, Jules Johannard, Jean Pierre Caba Rouillac, Jean Baptiste Clement, Gustave Paul Flourens, Ferré Charles Théophile, and Louis Simon Dereure. Mixed media: cardboard, photographs, bandages, and beeswax on wooden board. The dimensions are 51 x 41 x 4.5 cm. The technique used is photographic encaustic.
