The Paris Commune. Saturday, May 20. With a decree, the Paris Commune initiates the reform of the theater system to build a new associative and participatory system. With two other decrees, a pension of 600 francs is granted to the wife, married or not, of a national guard who was killed. Each child, recognized or not, is granted a pension of 312 francs until the age of 18. The ramparts of Paris were bombarded all night. Today, three hundred Versailles cannons, including naval cannons, spat fire on the insurgent city and forced the defenders of Paris to abandon the fortifications.
