The Paris Commune. Thursday, May 11. Today the Paris Commune decided to demolish the house of Thiers, the head of the Versailles government, as retaliation for the bombardment of Paris. The silverware will be confiscated. All the linen from Thiers' house will be made available to the Commune's ambulances. The numerous works of art and valuable books will be sent to the national libraries and museums. Once the house is demolished, the Commune plans to create a public square on the land occupied by the palace. During the night, General Walery Wroblewski with his men from the National Guard recaptured the fort of Vanves.
