The Paris Commune. Thursday, April 20, 1871. In the outskirts of Paris, fighting is now continuous. In recent days, the soldiers of Versailles had managed to take Colombes, Bécon, and Asnières, but then the Commune's counteroffensive under the command of Dombrowsky managed to regain the lost positions, except for the Bécon castle, which is very important because it overlooks this area from above. Many Parisian prisoners have been taken by the Versailles army. In Neuilly, the situation is extremely difficult: the innocent population has taken refuge in cellars, for days and days, due to the continuous mutual shelling by the two armies.
