The Paris Commune. Tuesday, April 18, 1871. As of today, the Journal Officiel (the Official Gazette) of the Commune publishes the minutes of the Assembly sessions to ensure maximum transparency. The Journal Officiel is printed by a private printing house and the production costs amount to 15 centimes, but to guarantee the widest possible distribution it is sold for only 5 centimes. The difference is covered by the Commune. On the combat front, last night the defensive forts of the Commune at Montrouge, Vanves, Issy, and the Hautes-Bruyères redoubt exchanged some cannon fire with the Versailles batteries at Chatillon, Bas-Meudon, and Brimborion, without appreciable results on either side.
