News from the Province. Today the Commune of Narbonne falls. The Versailles troops restore governmental order. This is followed by the arrest of 203 soldiers who had joined the Commune and will be sentenced to transfer to disciplinary battalions. Nineteen soldiers will be sentenced to death, with the sentence commuted to life forced labor to be served in New Caledonia. They will be amnestied in 1879 and 1880.
