A delegation of the mayors of Paris goes to Versailles in search of mediation and reconciliation between the capital and the national government, but is booed by the National Assembly. Jules Favre, republican and vice president of the Council of Ministers, issues his threat to Paris declaring: “There is nothing that can come to terms with the revolt. We must subdue it, we must punish Paris!”
